Project Overview

Andrew from West Leith, Hertfordshire, wanted a solar energy system that could grow with his needs. Chiltern Solar designed and installed a phased solar solution, combining high-efficiency panels with battery storage, to reduce energy costs and reliance on the grid.

The Installation Process

The first phase included the installation of 12 Jinko Tiger New 415W panels connected to a Solis 3.6kW inverter. This laid the foundation for Andrew's renewable energy journey. Phase two expanded the system with an additional 12 Jinko Solar 440W panels, a Growatt 6kW hybrid inverter, and two 5kWh Growatt batteries to store surplus energy for later use.

The installations were carried out smoothly by Chiltern Solar's expert team. Roofers Luke Crimmins, Joe Freeman, and Oscar Lenane ensured secure and precise panel installation, while electrician Matt Willan handled the integration of the inverters and batteries.

Why Choose Solar?

Andrew’s system now generates a combined total of 8436kWh annually, reducing his reliance on the National Grid by 27%. The inclusion of battery storage ensures greater energy independence, with the ability to store surplus energy for night-time or cloudy day use.

Results and Benefits

Andrew’s two-phase system is forecasted to achieve a return on investment within 12 years. The total system size of 10.26kWp maximises energy generation while ensuring future flexibility and scalability.
