Project Overview
Nick, located in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, was looking for an energy-efficient solution to lower his electricity bills and increase sustainability. Chiltern Solar designed and installed a 5.22kWp solar panel system with a GivEnergy battery, ensuring optimal energy storage and usage.
Installation Timeline
Here’s how Nick’s project progressed from start to finish:
Final Quote Issued: 20th June 2024
Order Confirmed: 21st June 2024
Installation Confirmed: 4th July 2024
Scaffolding Erected: 26th July 2024
Installation Completed: 1st August 2024
The Installation Process
On 1st August, Chiltern Solar’s expert team installed 12 Jinko Tiger Neo TOPCon 54-cell all-black solar panels on Nick’s roof. These panels were chosen for their high efficiency and aesthetic design, complementing the look of the property.
Our roofers, Joe Freeman, Eddie Friel, and Luke Crimmins, completed the panel installation efficiently. Electrician Rob Howard connected the system to a 3.6kW GivEnergy hybrid inverter, ensuring smooth conversion of solar energy into usable electricity. A 9.5kWh GivEnergy battery was installed to store surplus energy, enabling Nick to use renewable power even during non-sunny hours. Operations Manager Richard Stevens coordinated the entire project, ensuring a seamless process.
Why Choose Solar?
Nick’s solar system generates an estimated 4393kWh annually, reducing his reliance on the National Grid by 70%. The inclusion of a battery maximises energy efficiency, allowing stored energy to be used when needed most.
Results and Benefits
Nick’s solar installation is forecasted to provide a return on investment within 7 years. With a system size of 5.22kWp and the ability to store energy for later use, this installation ensures long-term savings and a step towards a sustainable future.
