Project Overview

Richard from Addington, Buckinghamshire, wanted to reduce his electricity bills and reliance on the National Grid while taking advantage of renewable energy. Chiltern Solar designed and installed a powerful 12.07kWp ground-mounted solar panel system, delivering energy efficiency and substantial annual savings.

Installation Timeline

Here’s how Richard’s installation progressed:

  • Quotation Issued: 14th September 2021

  • Survey Completed: 16th November 2021 (planning permission approved)

  • Order Confirmed: 19th November 2021

  • Digger Booked: 25th January 2022

  • Installation Completed: 31st January 2022

The Installation Process

The project involved installing 35 JA Solar 345W Mono MBB Percium half-cell black frame panels on a ground-mounted system. This setup was chosen to maximise energy capture from sunlight and to suit the available space on Richard’s property.

Roofers Joe Freeman and Malik Kamli ensured the panels were securely mounted. The Solis 10kW 3ph 4G Dual MPPT inverter was installed by Rob Howard to optimise energy conversion and manage the system effectively. Operations Manager Skye Warke ensured everything ran smoothly, while Surveyor Steve Gamston provided expert planning support.

Why Choose Solar?

Richard’s system generates an estimated 11,165kWh annually, significantly reducing his reliance on the National Grid and providing a clean energy solution. This ground-mounted setup is ideal for rural properties with ample land.

Results and Benefits

This system is expected to deliver substantial financial and environmental benefits, including a reduction in energy bills and carbon footprint. With an expected annual generation of 11,165kWh, Richard’s solar installation is a step towards energy independence.
