System Overview

The installation features Trina Vertex S+ 450W N-Type Mono solar panels, chosen for their high performance and durability in commercial environments. The panels are paired with a GivEnergy 20kW three-phase hybrid inverter and 10.2 kWh of lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery storage, allowing excess generation to be stored and used during peak demand or at night.

This configuration maximises self-consumption, improves energy resilience, and reduces reliance on grid-supplied electricity. All installation work, from design to commissioning, was carried out by Chiltern Solar in accordance with MCS and RECC standards.

Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)

The installation qualifies for SEG payments, enabling the sale of excess electricity exported to the grid. Chiltern Solar provided full commissioning, certification, and guidance for SEG registration with an approved supplier.

Financial & Environmental Impact

Total Installed Cost: £28,751.11 (incl. VAT)

CO₂ Savings: 4,507 kg annually
Equivalent to:
• ≈16,100 miles driven by a diesel car
• ≈207 trees absorbing CO₂ per year

Installation & Project Team

The Scan-Terieur installation was managed and completed by Chiltern Solar’s accredited team, with full compliance to the latest BS7671:2018 + A3:2024 electrical standards.

A suitable scaffold was supplied and erected by a Chiltern Solar–approved contractor, providing safe roof access up to the eaves of the building for all mechanical and electrical works.

All electrical connections were installed in accordance with current regulations to ensure system safety and performance. Where existing circuits required assessment, Chiltern Solar liaised directly with the client to agree any necessary upgrades prior to commissioning.

Prior to installation, the client commissioned a structural assessment to confirm the roof’s capacity to support the additional solar array. The system was designed within permitted development limits, therefore no formal planning permission was required.

Given the system’s capacity exceeding 3.68kW per phase, Chiltern Solar managed the full G99 application process with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO), ensuring compliance with grid connection standards. G99 witness testing, if required, was available as an additional service.

The project was completed within the estimated 4–6 week lead time, subject to DNO approval. All installed components were MCS-accredited, and Chiltern Solar’s own MCS accreditation (Registration No. NAP 28870) guaranteed compliance with national renewable energy installation standards.

All works were completed to Chiltern Solar’s MCS-accredited standards, including G99 application, scaffolding, and electrical certification.

Monitoring & Maintenance

The system is remotely monitored via the GivEnergy online platform, providing:
• Real-time generation and consumption tracking
• Battery charge/discharge monitoring
• System alerts and performance analytics

This ensures ongoing optimisation and early detection of potential issues, maximising long-term returns.

Warranties & Accreditation

Panels: 25-year performance warranty
Inverter: 5-year warranty (extendable to 10 years)
Battery: 10-year warranty
Workmanship: 5-year Chiltern Solar installation warranty

Accreditations:
• MCS (NAP 28870)
• RECC Member (44711)
• NAPIT Certified
